For the love of the game
You don’t need a reason.
You need a game.
The itch on a Tuesday. The first touch after a long week. That’s why we built this, so the game happens, every week, without anyone chasing it.

The dropouts only hurt
because you already paid.
You book the pitch. You front the money. Then two people drop on Saturday night, one doesn’t show at all, and you spend the next week asking grown adults for ten dollars. The flakes and the money aren’t two problems. They’re one problem, and it lands on you.

How it works
Set it up once.
It runs itself.
01
Create your group
Name it, set your usual spot and squad size. Takes about a minute.
02
Share one link
Drop it in the chat. Friends tap, see a preview, and land in your group, app or no app.
03
Schedule a game, set the fee
Time, player cap, RSVP deadline, and what each player owes. Publish. Everyone gets notified.
04
The app does the rest
RSVPs, waitlist promotions, the money, check-ins, no-show flags, teams, results. You show up and play.
The money
You’re the organizer.
Not the bank.
Set a fee per player and FC Pickup collects it before kickoff. Not after. Not on Venmo. Not from memory.

Players see it on the game itself: pay before kickoff or you’re dropped from the game. The card is authorised when they claim a spot and charged at kickoff. Drop out early and the hold is released. Drop out late and it isn’t . That’s their problem now, not yours.
0% organizer fees. Ever.
Your fee is your fee. Money goes straight to your own bank account through Stripe. You’re the merchant of record, and we never hold a cent of it.
You always know who paid.
One screen per game: what came in, what’s outstanding, and exactly who still owes. Mark someone paid when they hand you cash, or waive it entirely. It’s your group. No clipboard, no scrolling your bank app.
Most games stay free. Turn fees on only for the ones that cost you something.
However your group already pays
They pay how they
already pay.
Nobody has to switch payment apps to play football. Pick a method per game, and FC Pickup tracks who’s settled either way.

Hold up a code at the pitch. Their camera opens the payment app with the amount already filled in, and every payment carries a match code, so it lands against the right person and the right game instead of a mystery $10 in your feed.
The flakes
You never have to be
the bad guy again.
Check-in opens 30 minutes before kickoff. One tap, GPS-verified at the pitch. Anyone who said they were coming and didn’t show gets flagged automatically. Three flags in 30 days and the app blocks their RSVPs in your group.
You didn’t invent the rule on the spot. You didn’t send the message. You don’t take the argument at the next game. The system does all three.
Flags age out on their own after 30 days, and you can clear them any time. It’s still your group.
Sound familiar?
You’ve already written these rules.
By hand.
We read nineteen public pickup group pages. Nine had independently invented the same three-strike no-show rule. Seven had written their own RSVP cancellation deadline, and no two were the same. Every one of those rules is a feature in here.
“Cancel by 10pm the night before or it counts as a no-show.”
RSVP deadline
Set it once. Enforced automatically, every game.
“Three no-shows and you sit out the next one.”
Three flags in 30 days
The app blocks their RSVPs. You don't have to say a word.
“If you're on the waitlist it's your job to check if you moved up.”
Automatic promotion
Freed spots go down the queue, 15 minutes each, with a push.
“Money up front. No money, no play.”
Card authorised at RSVP
Charged at kickoff. Late drop-outs forfeit, not you.
“This group is not for beginners.”
Skill level on the game
Anyone below it has to request in, and you decide.
Nineteen groups. None of them talking to each other. All of them doing it by hand.
The app
Matchday,
handled.

One-tap check-in. Verified at the pitch, the moment you arrive. Check-in opens 30 minutes before kickoff, the ring fills as players land, and anyone who doesn’t show gets flagged automatically. No more “I’m 5 minutes away.”
Lineups you can see. Drag players onto the pitch, shuffle until it’s fair, and settle the “stacked teams” argument before it even starts.

Who’s paid, at a glance. Every player, every fee, one screen. No spreadsheet, no scrolling your bank app, no trying to remember whether Dave settled up.

Every result, remembered. Wins, draws, losses: your record settles the argument on the ride home.
For hosts
Built for the arguments you’re tired of having.
Every feature exists because some host, somewhere, had this fight one too many times.
One page per game
Kickoff, spots, fee, waitlist: every game gets one page the whole group sees. Tap Join and you're in. Full? Freed spots go down the waitlist automatically, 15 minutes each. No chasing.
Thursday Night
For everyone who just plays
Your games. Your record. Your card.
Every game you check in to builds your skill card: W-D-L record, peer ratings from real teammates, and a tier you earn: bronze, silver, gold.
Only players who checked in and played earn a record: the stats settle the “who wins more” argument for good.
Not your group’s thing? Leave it off. Ratings only count once enough teammates agree, and a game with nobody’s score recorded just goes down as a draw. You can run the whole group as pure logistics and never touch any of it.
The honest comparison
You could keep using the group chat.
Plenty of groups should. Here’s where each one actually breaks.
Group chat + Venmo
Free, and everyone already has it. Fine for a stable dozen who always show up and always settle. Breaks the moment you have a waitlist, mixed levels, or money moving, because all three live in your head.
A free team app
Free to schedule. Then a cut of every payment: roughly $74 a month out of a group of fourteen paying $10 a head each week, before card fees.
FC Pickup
$9.99 a month, whatever your group collects. 0% of your game fee. Free for every player, forever.
If you take cash and only need RSVPs, use the free one. We mean it.
Figure based on a published US transaction fee of $1.00 + 3.29%, applied to 14 players paying $10 across four games a month ($560), checked July 2026. Payment processing rates change; check the current rate card before relying on this.
iPhone or Android.
Same kickoff.
The whole group gets the same game page, the same waitlist, the same notifications, whatever phone is in their pocket.

FC Pickup is a mobile app for organizing recurring pickup soccer games. It handles RSVPs, waitlists, check-in windows, team assignment, results, and the game fee automatically, so the person who runs the group doesn't have to. Players get a permanent nickname and a W-D-L record they can only earn by showing up. It's free to play, works on iOS and Android, and groups mix freely across both.
Host+ is $9.99/month or $89.99/year (about 25% off) as shown in the app. Store pricing varies by region. It starts with a free 30-day trial that needs no payment method, and one subscription covers every group you run. Playing is always free, and Player+ is a separate one-time purchase, not a subscription.
Nothing is deleted and nothing is taken away. You just can't create new games. Your group, its whole history, every player's record, the game chats and your exports all stay readable for as long as you want them. Resubscribe and you're scheduling again the same minute.
No, and most games stay free. Fees are per-game and opt-in. When you do turn one on, you choose how it's collected: by card in the app, by a Venmo or Cash App link, or tracked as cash on the roster.
Nothing. 0%, always. For card games the money goes straight to your own bank account through Stripe. You're the merchant of record and we never hold it. Players pay a small service fee on card games, shown to them before they RSVP.
No. Ratings only apply once enough teammates have rated someone, and if nobody records a score the game just goes down as a draw. Plenty of groups run FC Pickup as pure logistics (RSVPs, check-ins, waitlist, money) and never touch the competitive side.
Yes. Players join groups, RSVP, play, and build their record for free. The free tier covers up to 3 groups at a time; the optional one-time Player+ purchase removes that cap. Download the app, tap an invite link, and you're in.
If someone RSVPs “going” and never checks in during the check-in window (or drops out after kickoff), the app flags them automatically. Three flags in 30 days triggers an automatic suspension from that group. You never have to be the bad guy. The system is. Hosts can correct attendance and lift suspensions any time.
Check-in stays open for 30 minutes after kickoff, and anyone who checks in more than 15 minutes late is marked late rather than absent. Punctuality is 30% of a player's reliability score, so the pattern shows up on its own, so you don't have to keep a mental list.
If the organizer allows +1s, any player who's going can add a guest. Guests take a real roster spot, never jump the waitlist, and their attendance (plus their fee on paid games) rides the person who brought them. No account or download required to play as a guest.
You share one link (fcpickup.app/g/…). Anyone who taps it sees a rich preview of your group in their browser, grabs the app from their store, and lands directly in your group. No codes, no manual adding.
Yes. One Host+ subscription covers every group you create. You can also add up to 3 co-admins per group to share the load.
Yes. The Season Summary shows attendance rate, no-shows, money owed and paid, and guests brought per member over 30 days, 90 days, or all time, with a one-tap CSV export, and it keeps working even on a frozen group.
No. Skill ratings are submitted after games by teammates who actually checked in and played, then applied anonymously in aggregate once there's a quorum. No one can trace a rating back to a person.
Both. Download from the App Store or Google Play. Groups mix freely across platforms.
